Keynote Speaker: Charles Landry: Cities in transformation day and night
Somewhere there is always night and those nights are richly varied as our world continues to shrink and our cities become more mixed, more nomadic and more diverse. and as more of us move around for work, for pleasure, for love, to explore or to escape from bad circumstances. There is a night economy, a night culture and an intensity of night activities to make the city work in the day. Cities, big or small and their hinterlands too are awake 24/7 and will be more so in a warming world. Charles will reflect on the advances in thinking and policy actions about the night and its importance since his first study of the 24 hour city in 1991.
