Kai Liesegang

About

Kai Liesegang has been working as a freelance multimedia editor, cameraman, and editor in Berlin for several years. In addition to producing image films, campaign videos, event documentaries, and reports, Kai has independently produced and published both short and feature-length documentary films. Thematically, the films focus on socially relevant and democracy-building topics that are often underrepresented in the public eye. In this work, Kai emphasizes the individual willingness, desires, and limitations of the protagonists. The aim is to give those affected a voice, break silences, highlight social and political grievances, portray cooperative and activist movements, and critically examine social contexts. Producing artistic and media content independently has enabled Kai to acquire a wide range of skills in the conceptualization, planning, and execution of projects. Additionally, studies in documentary film directing at the filmArche in Berlin have expanded Kai’s technical abilities and strengthened aesthetic competencies. Since 2018, Kai has been working as a freelancer for agencies, NGOs, collectives, theatre groups, associations, and private individuals.
